# Goyant: one app for stays, rides, events and local experiences in Goa

Case study · Pratish Porwal and Varun Porwal · Travel and hospitality · Feb – Jun 2026 · 13 people

We designed and built Goyant's user app, business app and web platform, bringing place discovery, cab services, motorcycle rentals and community travel stories together, and launched Phase 1 on Google Play in five months.

- 5 mo: from kickoff to Google Play launch
- 13: person cross-functional team
- 5: travel services in one platform

## Project overview

Goyant is a multi-service travel and booking platform that connects travellers with businesses across travel and hospitality, starting with Goa. It brings accommodation, motorcycle rentals, cab services, event bookings and restaurant reservations into one digital ecosystem.

The client asked for two mobile apps: a **User App** for discovering and booking services and a **Business Owner App** for onboarding businesses and managing their offerings, backed by a web platform. This case study covers Phase 1.

## About the client

Mr. Pratish Porwal's love of travel has taken him across India, Southeast Asia and the United Arab Emirates. For him, travel is about cultures, people, local food and lasting memories. Goa holds a special place in his heart.

His own experiences as a traveller inspired a simple idea: bring people closer to destinations by connecting them with the local businesses that make each place unique. That idea became Goyant.

### The challenge

- **Too many apps for one trip**: Finding restaurants, reliable cabs, motorcycle rentals and local experiences meant switching between several platforms or relying on word of mouth.
- **No single travel ecosystem**: There was no unified place where travellers could discover, access and book the essential services of a destination.
- **Local businesses were hard to find**: Cab operators, rental shops, restaurants and event organizers in Goa had limited ways to reach travellers digitally.

### Our approach

Mr. Pratish Porwal spent eight weeks on the Baap campus with our team, explaining his vision while we researched similar platforms, studied market needs and suggested ideas to improve the experience.

We defined the information architecture and workflows from three sides: how travellers discover and book, how businesses manage their offerings, and how administrators review submissions. Wireframes became detailed Figma designs, reviewed regularly with Mr. Porwal.

Requirements changed often under a tight timeline. We kept the project moving by structuring work into clear workflows, building reusable UI patterns, mapping application states and edge cases, and folding client feedback into every cycle.

The first version of Goyant went live on Google Play in June. We also supported the launch with promotional ad campaigns, video content and digital marketing.

### Technology

- **Figma**: Wireframes, UI design and interactive prototypes
- **Flutter**: Web and mobile interfaces from one shared codebase
- **Node.js**: Server-side logic and booking workflows
- **Apache JMeter**: Load testing under varying user volumes
- **Postman**: API and integration testing

### What we built

- **Traveller experience** (Delivered): Explore places, discover restaurants, browse events and read community content, starting with Goa.
- **Cab services and moto rentals** (Delivered): Discovery and booking flows for local cabs and motorcycle rentals, with vendor details and one-tap calling.
- **Admin tools** (Delivered): Review user-submitted spots and manage platform content.
- **UI/UX design and prototyping** (Delivered): Information architecture, wireframes, Figma prototypes, microcopy and a reusable design system.
- **Subscriptions and payments** (Partially delivered): Subscription selection and payment screens and flows.
- **Spot submission and discovery** (Next phase): Let users submit new places and discover local spots.
- **Restaurant management and booking** (Next phase): Restaurant discovery, booking, check-in, menus and owner tools.
- **Event management** (Next phase): Event discovery and booking with an organizer dashboard.
- **Community features** (Next phase): Community creation, participation and chat between travellers and locals.

### Impact

- **Visibility for local businesses**: Restaurants, rental shops, cab operators and event organizers get a digital storefront to reach travellers.
- **Simpler discovery**: Places, restaurants, events and attractions live in one app instead of several.
- **Community engagement**: Communities, shared stories and chat encourage travellers and locals to exchange knowledge.
- **Central content control**: Admin tools keep user-submitted places reviewed and platform content organized.
- **Ready to monetize**: Subscription and payment flows lay the groundwork for business subscriptions and event promotions.
- **Live on Google Play**: The Phase 1 launch brought the vision to market, with Goa as the first destination.
