Project overview
The Kopargaon City Platform is a customized digital solution that brings city information, civic services, public administration details and community initiatives into one place, on the web and on mobile.
It covers city information and demographics, public representative profiles, grievance registration and tracking, citizen suggestions, development work showcases, government resource links, health contacts, event permissions and a gallery of local activities. An admin panel handles complaint review, department-wise filtering, assignment, comments and status updates.
About the client
Mr. Parag Sandhan, Nagar Adhyaksha (Mayor) of Kopargaon, wanted a dedicated digital presence for the city: one place where residents could find essential information, follow local development and reach civic services more easily.
He engaged The Baap Company to build a website and mobile app inspired by an existing city website but adapted to Kopargaon's own requirements, combining city information, citizen engagement and civic administration in one experience.
What needed solving
- 01
An off-the-shelf app was not enough
Baap's existing Janhit civic app was a starting point, but the city needed different features and a simpler experience tailored to Kopargaon.
- 02
Grievances took too many steps
Citizens needed to report issues like water supply or electricity by picking a department, describing the problem and adding a photo, without a long form.
- 03
No central view for administrators
Officials needed one place to review, assign, comment on and track complaints by department and status.
- 04
Development work went unseen
Completed projects and community initiatives such as the Godavari cleanliness mission had no dedicated place to be showcased.
What the client asked for
- City informationHistory, geography, demographics, landmarks and temples of Kopargaon.
- Representative profilesPhotos, designations and departmental responsibilities of representatives and municipal officials.
- Simplified grievancesDepartment selection, a description and photo upload in as few steps as possible.
- Admin monitoringReview, assign, comment, update status and filter by department or status.
- Development showcasePublish completed projects with photos, likes and sharing.
- Citizen suggestionsPropose improvements such as public dustbins and tree planting.
- Public servicesGovernment websites, public-service information and health department contacts.
- Event permissionsRequests for events and processions with an approval process.
- GalleryCity photos, events, public activities and development media.
- Role-based accessCitizen features kept separate from administrator tools.
How we built it
We started from Mr. Sandhan's vision and Kopargaon's specific needs. Instead of reusing Janhit as is, we used an existing city website as a reference and shaped a customized solution around the client's expectations.
Dedicated sections present Kopargaon's history, demographics, landmarks and temples alongside profiles of public representatives and municipal officials, making civic administration easier to understand.
The grievance flow was designed to be as short as possible: choose a department, describe the issue, attach a photo. On the other side, administrators review complaints, assign them, add comments, update status and filter by department or status.
Citizen suggestions, development showcases, the Godavari cleanliness mission, useful government links, health contacts, event permissions and a media gallery round out the platform, on both the website and the mobile app.
